Find out About Ian Ross

My name is Ian Ross and I have been selected as Labour’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Worthing West for the next General Election. I am a younger candidate at 24 and this will be my first General Election I am running as a candidate.
As a bit of background, I spent three years working in the Civil Service, starting in the Department for Work and Pensions, followed by HM Treasury, and then a short spell in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. I then went to Swansea University where I gained a BSc in Economics. After graduating I spent a short spell working in an export department for a shampoo manufacturer before moving to take up the role of Policy Officer for a national childcare organisation. Last April I moved to work for a national disability charity as Policy and Campaigns Officer, and I am delighted to have recently taken up the post of Policy and Development Management for a leading UK youth charity.
In my spare time I enjoy going to the cinema, catching up with friends over a drink and going to the local pub quiz. My favourite television programmes are Little Britain, Torchwood, Come Dine With Me and The Bill.
I am very keen on meeting as many local people and businesses as possible. I decided to put myself forward as a candidate as I like to get involved and make a difference. I cannot bear to stand back and watch things which I disagree with. I believe it is important that more young people stand as candidates, whereby giving all members of society the opportunity to be represented in decision making. Over the coming months I will be campaigning for the best deal for all, whether they are families, pensioners or young people. If you have any questions or need any help with a local issue, please feel free to get in touch with me.
Best wishes

Ian Ross
